DEXTER- Alton "Ken" Cross, 86, died April 16, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. He was born in Harmony, November 13, 1928, the son of Harold and Freda (Potter) Cross.

He joined the US Army and served as an MP guarding Japanese prisoners in the Philippines following WWII. After returning from the service, Ken worked for several of the local industries, retiring from Dexter Shoe Company in 1993.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria (Clukey) Cross of Dexter; a son, Ronald "Butch" Foster of Sangerville; 2 daughters, Juanita Paine and her husband, Michael of NH, and Bonnie Stevens and her husband, Rev. Kevin Stevens of Parkman; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal will take place later in the spring at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
