SKOWHEGAN--Arlene Richardson, 94, died February 27, 2018 at her residence. \n\nShe was born May 18, 1923 in Harmony, a daughter of Preston and Albra (Foss) Chadbourne. She attended Harmony schools and graduated from Harmony High School, Class of 1940. \n\nArlene was a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church and was the Sunday school superintendent for many years. She was active in local affairs including being a 4-H leader for 8 years, member and officer of the Ripley Grange, member of the Busy Fingers in Harmony and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was well known for her cooking skills. Arlene was a long time cook at the Ripley and Dexter schools and other facilities and helped organize and cook for many benefit suppers. \n\nShe is survived by 5 children and their spouses, Sandra and Gary Snowden of Belmont, H. Daniel and Claire Richardson of Skowhegan, Barbara and George Clark of Dover-Foxcroft, Alton and Linda Richardson of Boothbay, and Pat and Wendall Nichols of Canaan; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.\n\nArlene was predeceased by 2 brothers, Almond and Leo Chadbourne; a sister, Myrtle Chipman; a great grandson, Matt; and a great great grandson, Brock.\n\nThe family would like to thank MaineGeneral Homecare and Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care of Arlene. \n\nA celebration of life will be held 10 A. M. Saturday, March 10th at the Ripley United Methodist Church with her son Alton officiating.
