DEXTER - Barbara Ruth (Perkins) Goulette, 93, died January 12, 2017 at a Dexter healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 7, 1923 in Ripley, a daughter of LeRoy and Jennie (Pettengill) Perkins.
She graduated from N. H. Fay High School, Class of 1941, where she was a cheerleader and belonged to the Dramatic Club. After graduating she worked in several local stores. She married Roland Goulette in 1947. They bought the former Gilbert House where she operated Barb and Roland's Store for 3o years.
She was president of the Junior Wassookeag Literary Club, a communicant of St. Annes Catholic Church, Regent of The Daughters of Isabella, Secretary of the Wassookeag Snowmobile Club, a member of Dexter Public Health, and volunteered at Dexter Health Care where she was known as one of the three Golden Girls. Barbara enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, spending time at camp and playing cribbage.
Barb is survived by her children, Karen McFarland of Bar Harbor; Jill and husband William Jones, Sue and husband Laurie Calhoun, all of Dexter; Ramona and husband Randy Gompper of Escondido, CA; and Joseph Goulette of Wells; 5 grandchildren, Mary Ann, Matthew, Lauren, Kori, and Karly; 4 great grandchildren, Conner, Elyse, Hayley, Tyler; several nieces and nephews; and her dog Muffin and her therapy dog Chloe.
She was predeceased by her husband Roland, her brothers, Alden and Philip Perkins, granddaughter Kendra Murray, son in law, Bill McFarland, and daughter in law, Sue Davis.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Tuesday at St. Annes Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Father Emile Dube officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
