CARMEL- Ernest C. Hand, 95, died July 2, 2012 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born in Hodgdon on September 28, 1916, a son of John and Edith (Tracy) Hand.\n\nErnest was in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and belonged to the American Legion Post #107 for 68 years. He worked many years with the railroad and also enjoyed farming his land in Carmel. Ernest was a kind and generous man.\n\nHe is survived by a daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Richard Cormier of Gray; 2 grandsons, Patrick Murphy and his wife, Lori and their son, Jackson all of Hampden, and Michael Cormier of Augusta; several nieces and nephews. \n\nHe was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen "Kay" Hand in 2005.\n\nGraveside services with military honors will be held 2 PM, Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Highland Cemetery in Carmel with Pastor Lunette George officiating. \n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Carmel Historical Society, P.O.
