CAMBRIDGE--George Allen Scott, 78, died unexpectedly April 12, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 25, 1939 in Newtown, CT, a son of Samuel and Helen (Sedor) Scott. He served in the U. S. Army for 4 years, stationed in France for 3 of those years.\n\nGeorge was known by many for his quick wit and always seemed to know when someone needed a laugh. He loved spending time with his family and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a past vice president of the Bluegrass Association of Maine.\n\nHe is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra and husband Dave Blake of Dexter and Kathy Scott of Cambridge; a brother, Sam of CT; grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Nicole "Shortstack" and husband Gary of Birch Harbor, Matthew "Boots", Christine "Shoes", and Geneva, all of Dexter; great granddaughter, Eva "Little One", whom he loved to the moon and back. George was predeceased by his wife Gale and a sister Nancy.\n\nA memorial service will be held at 4 P. M. Saturday, April 28th at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 59 Main Street, Dexter, with Pastor George Dever officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
