Obituary

GARLAND - Joe Baldwin, 74, passed away October 13, 2011 at his home, surrounded by family.

We bid farewell to a mountain man and lifelong trapper. He was an avid outdoorsman, a lifetime member of the Maine Trapper's Association, and worked in Augusta to defend trapping for 20 years.

He held many jobs in Garland, including fireman, Selectman, and Superintendent of Cemeteries for 36 years.

In his early years he served as a corporal in the U. S. Marine Corps, and also served as a Sunday School teacher in New Jersey.

He is survived by his wife Lynda; 2 daughters, Amanda Valli, husband Ron, and their son Caleb, daughter Rachel Hayden; grandchildren, Tasha Johnson, Destiny and Nathan Rider, and Serenity King; a brother, Dr. David Baldwin, wife Mary and family; also a special friend and "son" Tony Nightingale.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Joseph and Myrtle Baldwin, brother Billy Baldwin, his first wife, Sue Baldwin, and their son Joey.

Graveside committal services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, October 22nd, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Campbell Road, Garland.
