DEXTER- Katherine M. Ricker, 60, died January 30, 2017, in Dexter, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Dexter, October 7, 1956, the daughter of Reginald and Mildred (Flewelling) Mountain. She graduated from Dexter High School class of 1975, and attended Eastern Maine Community College. Katherine worked for the town of Dexter as their Animal Control Officer for 29 years and for the Dexter Ambulance for over 10 years. She also ran the non-profit, "Adoptions Plus" for abandoned animals. (please, spay and neuter your pets) She is survived by her husband, Michael P. Ricker of Dexter; her mother of Dexter; 2 children, Christopher Ricker of Dexter, and Marjorie Pennington and her husband, Matthew of Kenduskeag; 2 brothers, Reginald Mountain Jr. of Dexter, and Eugene Mountain and his companion, Donna Benson of Garland; 2 sisters, Lori Hallett and her husband, Robert of Ellsworth, and Lisa Mountain of Dexter; a grandson, Joseph Race of Dexter; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father; and a son, Matthew. Friends may call Thursday February 2, 2017, from 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 PM at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street in Dexter. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 3, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Dexter, with spring burial in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
