DEXTER- Katherine L. Sickenberger, 87, went home to be with her Lord, May 17, 2015, surrounded by her family while at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born in Meriden, CT, February 12, 1928, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Helen D. (Mitten) Doore.

She worked as a spinner for Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna and for Guilford Industries in Newport. Later she worked for Church Goods in Pittsfield.

She enjoyed singing with her children and at community events with a group of girls called the "Aging Polka Dots".

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Sickenberger, Sr.; a son, Wayne Holt shortly after birth; a brother, Kenneth Jr.; a sister, Bertha Gallant; and a step-sister, Mary Sanborn.

She is survived by a son, Danny Holt of Plymouth; 4 daughters, Sandra Snide and her husband, Jim of Parkman, Pamela Curtis and her husband, Arnold of Ripley, Lynn Bearce of Guilford, and Barbara Hatch and her husband, Jasper of Dexter; several grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Cathy Brown, who was one of her caregivers; also several great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 22, 2015, at 2 PM, at the Gray Cemetery in Dover-Foxcroft.
