GREENVILLE AND ATHENS- Marguerite Jeanne (Deppler) Ward, 91, died April 4, 2011, at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. She was born October 4, 1919, in Twin Falls, Idaho, daughter of Warren and Velma (Van Buskirk) Deppeler.\n\nShe served as a nurse in the US Army during WWII. She married Cecil R. Ward in 1945, and they had 3 sons, Donald, James and Thomas. In 1969 they all moved to Greenville, Maine.\n\nShe was predeceased by her husband, Cecil, March 17, 1982.\n\nFor the past 17 years she has made her home at Tissues Country Estates, where she made many friends, that over time became her family. She was very active at Tissues and was a big help to new residents. She watched over everyone at Tissues, was very attentive to her room-mates, and remembered all of the staff's birthdays. Her daily ritual was to greet the staff with hugs when they came in, and when they left for the day. She even cleaned off the mats after each meal. She will be missed by so many people that loved her.\n\nShe is survived by a special niece and her husband, Geneva and Norman Beckwith of Shirley, and their family; 3 sisters-in-law, Winnie McCormick of Fairfield, Julia Warman and Betty Ward, both of Greenville Jct.; many nieces and nephews.\n\nFuneral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 8, 2011, at the Greenville Chapel of Crosby & Neal, located at the Masonic Building on Pritham Avenue. \n\nFriends may call at the Chapel from 1 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery later in the spring.\n\nIn lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Tissues Activities Fund, 212 Foxhill Rd., Athens, ME 04912.
