CAMBRIDGE, Melissa "Missy" J. Cookson, 43, passed away unexpectedly October 9, 2012 at her home in Cambridge. She was born December 30, 1968 in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Bryon and Rose Saunders.

Missy loved spending time with family and friends. She loved to go horseback riding, and looked forward to summer trips to the coast with her family. She also loved to go camping, hiking, watching wildlife and the fall foliage, doing arts and crafts, reading books, going to the movies and yard sales, shopping, doing photography, and motorcycling.

She is survived by her husband, Larry K. Cookson Jr.; her children, Sarah Saunders of Guilford, Heather Saunders of Winterport, Larry K. Cookson III of Cambridge, and Kymber M. Cookson of Cambridge; her brothers, Donnie Tibbetts of Garland and Terry Saunders of Guilford; her sister, Tammy Philbrook of Monson; her brother, Dean Munson of Sebec; her sister, Nikki Chase of Florida; her mother, Rose Saunders of Guilford; her father, Bryon Saunders of Lincoln; one grandson, Wyatte Saunders of Hartland; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandmother, Betty Daggett; a stepbrother, Michael Curtis; and a sister, Lisa Saunders.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at 10 A.M. at the Cambridge Memorial Garden Cemetery, Rt. 152, Ripley Road in Cambridge with Pastor Sam McKeen officiating. A reception will follow at the Cambridge Baptist Church.
