MONSON, Richard H. Pratt, 81, died suddenly at his home January 15, 2014. He was born September 7, 1932 in Monson, to Guy and Augusta Pratt.\n\nHe served in the Korean War. Richard was a self-employed woodsman all of his life. He enjoyed fishing, traveling the back roads of Maine, and his dog. He also enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren, Carter, Cameron, and Chloe Pratt.\n\nRichard is survived by 5 children, Valerie Pratt Farnham and husband Jim, Danny and wife Cyndee Pratt, Michael and wife Nancy Pratt, Rick Pratt, Joel and wife Nina Pratt; a sister, Betty Pratt Cole and husband Allan; and 4 stepchildren, Cindy and husband Bill Charland, Scott Clawson, Rick and wife Jolane Clawson, Glenn and wife Miko Clawson; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and his ex-wife Sydney Pratt, whom he remained close friends with.\n\nHe was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Phillip and Clarence "Socky" Pratt; a sister, Shirley Pratt Grant; and a daughter-in-law, Lorrie Pratt.\n\nA burial will be held at the Willimantic Cemetery in the spring. \n\nCremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Guilford.
