CORINNA - Robert Arthur Davis, 90, departed this earth on April 28, 2015, fulfilling his request to spend his final days in the home in which he was born on October 14, 1924. He was born in the farmhouse of his grandfather's farm in Corinna. \n\nHe was the eldest son of Theodore Rollins Davis and Eleanor (Cole) Davis, and grew up in Rumford, where he graduated from Stevens High School, Class of 1943. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Helen (Walker) Davis.\n\nBob was a World War II veteran having served in the U. S. Army Air Corps as a navigator on a B-17. Upon his return home he married Helen and continued the family farming tradition in Corinna. \n\nBob was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter for over 60 years, and also served as Deacon. He was a member of the Dexter Area Kiwanis. Bob enjoyed traveling, birdwatching, reading, watching sports, fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family at the lake and also spent many hours in his woodworking shop crafting beautiful masterpieces that his children will cherish forever. He was a devoted grandfather, attending their countless sporting events and other activites.\n\nHe is survived by 5 children, Charlotte Davis and husband Tom, Daniel Davis and wife Carleen, all of Corinna, Kate Moore and husband Phil of Felton, Delaware, Miriam Davis of Waterville, and Rosalie Blair and husband Charlie of Silver Spring, MD; 4 siblings and their spouses, Rosalie Walker and Donald of Bingham, Charles Davis and Vera of Shirley Mills, Naomi Robertson and James of Rumford, Ted Davis and Linda of Bethel; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. \n\nThe family wishes to extend a special thank you to Uncle Charlie, Bob's brother, for his daily love and support over the past few weeks.\n\nFuneral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, May 3rd, at the First Baptist Church of Dexter, with the Rev. John "Jay" Brennan officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2 P.M. until the time of services. \n\nBurial will immediately follow the funeral at the family lot, Higgins Cemetery, Corinna.
