DEXTER - Bob Tillson, 91, died July 12, 2018 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born July 31, 1926 in Dexter a son of Rufus and Edith (Marden) Tillson. He graduated from Dexter schools and received a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. He joined the Navy SeaBees in 1944 and served in the Pacific theatre during World War II.\n\nHe married the former Beverly Haseltine in 1953. Bob and Beverly enjoyed entertaining friends at their homes on Lake Wassookeag and Florida. He enjoyed boating and golf. Bob was a longtime member of the First Universalist Church in Dexter. He co-owned with his brother Tom the family hardware business, H. L. Tillson & Sons, retiring in 1993. He was also a member of Penobscot Lodge Masons, and the Anah Shrine. He was a past member of the Dexter Club and the Dexter Fire Department.\n\nHe is survived by 2 sons, Steven of King William, VA, and Thomas of Dexter; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katherine, and Billy; 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother Thomas.\n\nA memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
