PALMYRA - Ronald Eli Greenwood, 71, died March 13, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 21, 1942 in Belfast, a son of Thomas and Eva (Whitcomb) Greenwood. He was raised in Benton and attended area schools, receiving his diploma in 1972. He worked for 40 years at Waterville Window Company, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Messalonskee Masonic Lodge in Oakland for the past 41 years.\n\nRon enjoyed camping and especially sitting by the campfire with family and friends. He enjoyed long walks and going to Foxwoods whenever he got the chance.\n\nHe is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bonnie (Raymond) Greenwood of Palmyra; a son Thomas of Waterville; a daughter, Ericka Roy and husband Chad of Vassalboro; his grandchildren, Jason, Cory and Lily; a brother, Roger Greenwood and wife Brenda of Fairfield; 3 nieces, Janiece, Crystal, and Amanda; a nephew, Ryan Greenwood and wife Cara; 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews; a brother in law, Frank Raymond of Bucksport; many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Belfast area; and a special cousin, Dwight and wife Pat Marshall. The family would like to thank his grandson Jason for his dedication as his long term caregiver.\n\nIn addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by a step mother, Dorothy; a sister Brenda and brother Raymond.\n\nFriends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday with a Masonic service conducted at 7 PM at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 19th , with the Rev. Kay Hawkins officiating.
