GREENVILLE - Rowena B. Marin, 91, died January 17, 2015 at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft after a short illness. She was born in Gardiner, January 26, 1923, the daughter of David and Sylvia (Stevens) Christopher.\n\nShe graduated from Gardiner High School in 1941, and retired as a food purchaser for the State of Maine in Augusta. After retiring she and her husband Ernest "Babe" Marin moved from Gardiner to Rockwood and spent 30+ years as well known members of the community.\n\nHer hobbies included rug hooking, knitting, crocheting and canning, and she taught her craft to all those interested in learning. She enjoyed playing cribbage, bingo, and cards. \nRowena will be remembered for her generosity to all those around her young and old.\nShe was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rockwood for many years until moving to Greenville where she became a member of the Holy Family Parish.\n\nShe was predeceased by her husband Ernest R. "Babe" Marin, who passed away on April 24, 2011.\n\nShe is survived by her loving granddaughter, Kathi Chase; great grandson, Christopher J. LeCompte; and great great grandson, Gabriel C. LeCompte; as well as a niece, Penny Purington; and other nieces and nephews both on her family and the Marin family sides.\n\nA Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 A.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the St Joseph's Catholic Church in Rockwood. Burial will be 10 A.M., Monday, June 15, 2015 in the Maine Veteran's Cemetery in Augusta next to her husband.\n\nArrangements by Crosby & Neal, Greenville.
