Russell D. Lawn, Sr. \n\nNEWPORT - Russell D. Lawn, Sr., 63, died July 29, 2006 at his Grove Street residence. He was born July 2, 1943 at Boston a son of Francis and Frances (Ceurvels) Lawn, Sr.\n\nHe graduated from Boston schools and served in the U. S. Navy. He had been employed as warehouse manager at South Shore Electric in Weymouth, MA, Eagle Electric in Boston, and Gilman Electric in Newport after moving here. \n\nAfter retiring, Russell enjoyed volunteering with his friend Howard Seavey, setting up the men's breakfasts at Calvary Baptist Church in Newport.\n\nHe enjoyed a good card game such as cribbage, poker and rummy 500.\n\nRussell was predeceased by his son, Russell D. Lawn, Jr. on March 8, 2006; and by a grandson, Joshua Sawyer, March 19, 2006. \nHe is survived by a son, Robert Lawn of Plymouth, MA; a daughter, Richelle Lawn of Pittsfield; 3 brothers, F. Thomas Lawn of Newport, Stephen and Edward\nLawn, both of Massachusetts; and a sister, Ann Marie Waluk of Thorndike; 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, August 1st, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday. Burial will be in Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
