NEWPORT--Sarah W. Gray, 82, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord October 3, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 4, 1932 in Hill City, Kansas, a daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Hall) Meyer. Sarah was a loving Christian wife that loved to read her Bible.\n\nShe was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Calvary Baptist Church in Newport. Sarah enjoyed playing cards, camping, shopping, getting her hair and nails done weekly, and spending time with her family. She touched the hearts of everyone she met.\n\nSarah is survived by her husband Earl; her children, Susan and husband Michael McGeough, Jutta and husband Steven Bennett, Ann and husband Cliff Dupray, Sr., and Tom Gray and his fiancee, Joan Levesque; a sister, Marilyn Zufelt; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews that were all special to her. She was predeceased by a daughter, Evelyn Lister, and a brother Kay Meyer.\n\nFriends may call from 6 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, October 8th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday with the Rev. George Perkins officiating. Graveside committal services will be held 10 A.M. Friday, October 10th at the Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
