PITTSFIELD - Thelma Ruth (Hunt) Tucker, 87, died March 11, 2015. She was born September 15, 1927 in Clinton, a daughter of Clayton and Marion (Towers) Hunt. \n\nShe graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 1944, and after her children were grown, received her LPN degree from a nursing school in New Jersey in 1976. Thelma was employed at the Hackensack Medical Center throughout her career. She and her husband Richard C. "Dick" raised their family in Ridgefield Park, NJ. After retiring they moved to Bristol, Maine, where they enjoyed living near the ocean. \n\nThelma was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Ridgefield Park and Pittsfield; and the Damariscotta Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, baker and reader. She loved baseball, animals, and especially her grandchildren, some who affectionately called her "Mimi". \n\nShe is survived by her son, Richard and wife Heather of Hartland; 2 daughters, Pam and husband Stephen Schwartz of Ft. Collins, CO, Penny and husband Gary Smallman of Number Four, NY; 2 sisters, Lois and husband Fred Shores of Albion, and Dorothy Ouillette of Augusta; 6 grandchildren, Rebecca, Julia, Theodore, Colleen, Hannah, and Daniel; 5 step grandchildren; 1 great grandson Colton; and her beloved cat Lucky Girl.\n\nIn addition to her loving husband of 60 years, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kendra Rose Schwartz.\n\nThe family wishes to thank all of her caregivers in the Pittsfield community.\n\nServices will be private.
