ETNA--Verna N. Curtis, 89, died October 5, 2014 in Hartland. She was born February 10, 1925 in Carmel a daughter of George and Marjorie (Shaw) Curtis. She graduated from Carmel High School.

Verna was employed as a waitress for many years and later worked in shoe manufacturing until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, gardening, and feeding the birds.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Curtis) Madore of Etna; a son Richard Curtis of Pittsfield; a sister Alice Haverly of Newport; 2 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Merle and Bill Curtis.

There will be no services at her request. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
