DEXTER - Vernard L. McKenney, 83, died peacefully June 14, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. \n\nHe was born September 12, 1925 in Dexter, a son of Culbert and Flossie (Thompson) McKenney. \n\nHe worked for Fay-Scott Machine Shop for many years and retired from Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Pittsfield.\n\nHe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret (Bates) McKenney of Dexter; 3 children, Richard McKenney of Corinth, Jane Hall of Dexter, and Tamara Headlee of Texas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. \n\nHe was predeceased by his parents, an infant son, 2 brothers and a sister.\n\nFuneral services were held June 17th at Crosby & Neal, Dexter, with Clermont Spencer officiating. \n\nBurial was in Mt.
