ETNA - Vincent S. Conant, 92, died March 16, 2018 at a Bangor hospital with family by his side.

He was born September 18, 1925 in Etna, a son of Alfonzo and Thirza (Young) Conant. Vincent will be remembered for his love of his family and his dedication to Conant Orchards that he built with his father Alfonzo in 1945.

Vincent and Peg were married for 72 years, and the loss of his wife less than a month ago was too much for him to handle as he wanted to be by her side again.

He is survived by a son, Larry Conant of Etna; a son in law, Michael Parsons and wife Sylvia of Hermon; a sister Joyce and husband Verne Bubar of Etna; 3 grandchildren, Chris Conant, Michael and wife Kelli, Clinton and wife Danielle Parsons; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as 2 dear friends, Margie and Bob Downing.

He was predeceased by his wife Glornie "Peg"; daughter Janice Parsons; and sisters Dorothy Moon, Elaine Hasey and Gloria Wilson.

Family services will be held in the spring for Vincent and Peg. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
