GUILFORD- Wanda W. Adkins, 80, died September 8, 2012, at Tissues Country Estate in Athens. She was born in Houlton, January 10, 1932, the daughter of John and Marion (Noble) Way.\n\nShe graduated from Houlton High School class of 1950, and St. Mary's School of Nursing in AZ, in 1961. She worked as a private duty nurse in Arizona and later in New York. \n\nAfter the death of her husband, Lester Lewis Sewall, Jr., she later married Winston P. "Bill" Adkins and moved to Maine.\n\nWanda was a member of the Guilford United Methodist Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a spiritualist, loved music, taught piano lessons and enjoyed caring for her family. She loved people and was known for her sunny disposition and good sense of humor.\n\nShe is survived by her husband of Kingsbury; a son, Brian Sewall and his wife, Charlotte of OK; 2 daughters, Tylene (Sewall) Kimball and her husband, Robert of Sangerville, and Leslyn (Sewall) Herrick and her husband, Wynne of Abbot; a stepdaughter, Leslie Bitely and her husband, James of Abbot; 5 grandsons, Brian Sewall, Kirk and Kamron Kimball, and Travis and Zachary Herrick; 14 great grandchildren, Brian, Ricky, Taran, Alexis, and Alex Sewall, Halle, Kendall, Khloe, and Sophie Kimball, and Addyson, and Avery Herrick, and Cody Tetlow, Cadence and Zachary Herrick; 1 great great granddaughter, Dea Sewall; several nieces and nephews. \n\nShe was predeceased by 3 brothers, Jack, George and Billy; and a special great aunt, Minnie Noble.\n\nMemorial services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak Street in Guilford, with Pastor Sam McKeen officiating.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. \n\nThe family would like to thank the staff at Tissues for their wonderful care.
