GREENVILLE- William C. "Big Bill" LaPointe, 51, died December 4, 2011, at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. He was born October 21, 1960, in Saco, son of John and Sandra (Belanger) LaPointe.

He was a graduate of Thornton Academy in Saco, class of 1979. Big Bill worked for Biddeford Textile Company for 10 years before moving to Greenville. He was well known for his job at the gas station at Indian Hill, and for providing rides to people that needed them.

He is survived by his mother of Saco; 3 children, Angela LaPointe, Mellissa LaPointe, and Billy LaPointe; a granddaughter, Summer-Moon McCarthy; son-in-law, James McCarthy; and Barbara LaPointe, who is the mother of his children, all of Greenville; 2 sisters, Debbie Vovolaskis of Biddeford, and Mary Ross of Waterboro; a brother, Tim LaPointe of Kennebunk; many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of his family and friends will be held 11 AM to 2 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the American Legion Hall in Greenville.
